Floating Hearts Waterless Snow Globe #IGme


Hello Hometalk Friends! Have you seen the waterless snow globes that were so popular during the holidays? I thought it would be fun to make one for using some floating hearts I created from my stash of craft supplies. Today I'll show you how...


For the snow globe, I used a shorter length of ribbon. Measure it against the jar you use--it needs to be long enough to glue to the top of the lid, but short enough to lay right inside the jar, so that it doesn't drag against the bottom.
First, I cut an assortment of hearts from vintage sheet music and gold doilies. Next, I hot glued them to strips of sheer ribbon.

Now, to add the arrow. I found these adorable wooden hearts and arrows in the bargain bins at--you guessed it--Target! I chose a gold one to add to the center heart.

Before returning the lid, I prepared the jar by adding some torn pieces of gold doily scraps and then pouring epsom salt on top. The doily adds a lacy sparkle to the "snow." Now to add the lid...
