This is one of my favorite pieces in our house. When I saw it at our local flea market, I thought it was an interesting shape, and for $10, I had to grab it. I thought it had a lot of potential, but I was even happier with the finished product than I thought I'd be because the wood grain on the top of the cabinet is so beautiful.
Here's a before, during, and after shot:And bottom. There was a bit of water damage on the bottom.
To get started, I sanded off the top of the piece completely. I stained it and sealed it using polyurethane. For the base, I gave it a quick coat of Zinsser primer and then three coats of Folk Art Home Decor paint in White Adirondack.
I also replaced the hardware with a fun little knob from a local shop.
