How To Make A Sign Using Vinyl Letters

We recently renovated our drab laundry room into a room I actually enjoy being in! One of the new additions to the laundry room is a sign that I made by using a vinyl decal.

To start, I bought the vinyl decal. I used an old board that I already had for the sign, and cut it to the right length. I sanded the board, and cleaned it with a tack cloth.

Then I painted the face of the board white, and the edges black.

I took the backing off of the decal, and applied it to the board.

I pressed the vinyl decal from the middle out, and then removed the protective cover so that only the black letters remained on the board.

I'm so happy with the finished sign! The vinyl decal can also be applied directly to the wall instead of a board. You can find more details in my blog post at the link below.
