Closet Creation for Under $25

I've had an odd nook in my bedroom since I moved into my home 8 years ago. It's the size of a small closet and, some day, I may just expand it into just that. I moved a double rail system into it a year ago and I've still hated it. Then inspiration struck... built ins!

I picked up some "L" brackets from Walmart for $1.50 a set with everything needed to hang them. It was a steal I couldn't pass up. Then off to home depot for more treasures.





I picked up a few (4) shelf and rod brackets. Then in search of shelving (on a shoe string budget). I stumbled upon the perfectly sized MDF bull nosed shelves for $2 each and did a little happy dance while stacking five into my cart. I don't think I've ever made it out of home depot with every thing needed for a project for less than $20 but with my military discount, it was a grand total of $19.36! History in the making!
I came home and grabbed my tools:
2 screw guns (one to drill, one to screw)
1 spirit level
1 hammer
One black sharpie
I mapped out where I wanted all my shelves, marked all holes on my wall, drilled holes for dry wall anchors (hammer was used to place the anchors), attached the "L" brackets and screwed on the shelves. I scavenged the metal pipes from the old hanging rack that I evicted from the spot for the hanging rods. Two hours later...





I feel accomplished. This is a work in progress and the plan is to eventually cover the old and new closets with sliding barn doors but that is a project for another day. For now a curtain over the new.
