Cooling Rack Heart

I am on a tight budget, but wanted to decorate my mantel for Valentines. I saw this cooling rack, and was inspired. I love it when I can take items that I already have and repurpose them or use them in a project and then still use them for there original purpose.I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I do.

I started by figuring out where on the cooling rack I wanted to start my heart. Then I took several of the coffee filters and folded them in half three times leaving the edges out to add the food coloring. When I got it bunched together, I took the bottles of food coloring and dabbed the color on to the edges of the filters. I seperated the filters and gave them a few minutes to dry.

I started putting the pointed end of the filters thru the holes and made an outline of the heart, then filled in with the remaining filters.

I bought three $1.00 boxes of candy and the rest were things I had around the house. Love is in the air at my house. Happy Valentine's to you all!
